MIMA through the Bottle of Notes

I wanted to incorporate two local landmarks in one imagefor a photographic competition.

MIMA & The Bottle of Notes

The Bottle of Notes by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen is a monumental sculpture which soars nearly 36-foot high above Victoria square in Middlesbrough. The bottle is made of steel script that copies the script from Captain Cook's journals.

MIMA, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art opened in 2007.

This image won the Newcastle Building Society Photographic competition, October 2012 with all proceeds going to Zoe's Place childrens hospice, Middlesbrough

Location: Victoria square, Middlesbrough.
